Mary Jane Blevins, daughter of John BLEVINS & Pinkey CHEEK, was born Sept. 3, 1838, in Ashe Co., NC, and died Jan. 7, 1929, in Alleghany Co., NC. She married (1) Jacob Rector, son of Anderson & Sarah RECTOR, Oct. 10, 1867, in Alleghany Co., NC. He was born abt. 1849 in Grayson Co., VA, and died 1918 in Grayson Co., VA. Mary and Jacob Rector divorced before 1880. She married (2) Robert Lee Truitt, son of Henry J. TRUITT & Hannah BROWNING. He was born Nov. 2, 1848, in NC, and died May 12, 1928, in Alleghany Co., NC. Mary Jane Truitt is buried at the Crab Creek Primitive Baptist Church, off Hwy 18 at Road 1450, Ennice, Alleghany Co., NC.

acob Rector and Mary Jane Blevins married on Oct
10, 1867, in Alleghany County, NC, but their marriage may have
had problems from the start. Jacob was living with his parents in
1870 and Mary Jane was living with her father. Mary and Jacob
Rector had apparently separated permanently by 1880 when Mary is
listed in the census as a "widow." Actually, Jacob was
still living and remarried to Nancy BRACKINS. He had 3 more
children: Charles Emmett Rector (b. 1873), William A. Rector
(1875), and Laura Rector (c.1879). Mary Jane married Robert Lee Truitt in
1895.
