Obituary of Caroline Edwards Cheek

Minutes of the Little River Baptist Association (1934)

CAROLINE EDWARDS CHEEK was born November 22, 1858, died July 30, 1934, age 75 years, 8 months and 8 days. She was married to H. C. Cheek December 20, 1881. To this union two children were born, one having died in infancy; the other being Mrs. Maude Jarvis. Mrs. Cheek was sick a long time with diabetis, which finally resulted in her death. She did not belong to any church, she was, however, a good wife, mother and neighbor, and left all evidence of a full trust in Christ, having stated to her loved ones shortly before her death that she did not see anything in her way and hoped to meet them in heaven. Peaceful be thy silent slumbers, Peaceful in thy grave so low, Thou no more will join our number, Thou no more our sorrows know. Yet again we hope to meet thee, When the day of life is fled, And in heaven with joy to greet thee, Where no farewell tears are shed. Written by a friend.
