Isom Richardson, son of Alexander RICHARDSON & Martha CHEEK, was born Sept. 19, 1835, in Ashe Co., NC, and died May 7, 1913, in Surry Co., NC. He married Jane Crouse, Aug. 5, 1857, in Surry Co., NC. She was born July 27, 1836, and died Feb. 2, 1908, in Surry Co., NC.  Isom and Jane Crouse are buried at the Fisher's Gap Cemetery in Surry Co., NC.

Notes

som Richardson was the oldest son of Alexander Richardson and Martha Cheek of Ashe/Alleghany County, NC. In 1857, he married Jane Crouse in Surry County, NC. I have no information about her parents. Isom and Jane moved to Illinois around 1877 but returned to North Carolina by 1880 and ultimately settled in Low Gap, Surry County, NC. Civil War: Isom Richardson, b. Sept. 19, 1835, resident of Alleghany Co., NC, enlisted as a private on May 3, 1862, in Co. I, 61st NC Inf. Regiment. On rolls Nov. 15, 1862. On rolls Feb. 15, 1863. Hospitalized on Apr. 1, 1863, at Columbia, SC. Furloughed for 30 days on May 20, 1863. Absent without leave on June 20, 1863. Under arrest on Oct. 11, 1863. Absent, sick on Nov. 15, 1863, at Petersburg, VA. Returned on Jan. 15, 1864. On rolls Mar. 15, 1864. Deserted on June 15, 1864 (estimated day). Returned on Oct. 25, 1864.
