Starling Edwards, son of Berry EDWARDS, Sr., & Ruth DAVIS, was born Nov. 2, 1821, in Ashe Co., NC, and died Oct. 16, 1912, in Alleghany Co., NC. He married (1) Amy Wiles, abt. 1843. She was born Feb. 9, 1823, in North Carolina, and died Dec. 15, 1885, in Alleghany Co., NC. He married (2) Sarah Adeline Phipps, daughter of Preston PHIPPS & Sarah Jane DIXON, Sept. 15, 1890, in Alleghany Co., NC. She was born May 1842 and died unknown. Starling and his first wife Amy are buried in the Starling Edwards Cemetery, Road 1135, Alleghany Co., NC.

Notes

Starling Edwards was the second son of Berry Edwards, Sr., and Ruth Davis of Ashe/Alleghany County, NC. He seems to have been a prosperous farmer, and bought and sold many pieces of property in Alleghany County during his lifetime. His estate was probated in Alleghany Co., NC, in 1912. (NC Archives Box No. CR.004.508.10.) He is buried with his first wife, Amy (Wiles), at a family cemetery located off Road 1135 near Sparta. (See Alleghany County Cemeteries Through 1986 pub. by the Alleghany Co. Hist-Gen. Society).
